CRAFT - Disney Princesses card craft

I went to the pound shop and found 15 Princess cut outs for (you guessed it) one pound. I knew that with paint and scissors I could get 13 Disney Princesses from them. I started with the outline and then I painted the faces. Ariel and Jasmine needed a big dress makeover, the others I left or I trimmed down as well as altering the hairstyle. I then painted everyone skin on.

The next step was to go colour by colour (rather than princess by Princess) I started with Yellow, Snow White, Belle, Mulan and Tiana and moved onto blue Elsa, Anna, Snow White, Mulan, Then I went through green, purple, red, black, pink until everyone was dressed.

Time to move onto hair. I needed plaits for Rapunzel, Elsa, Anna as well as ariel and Merida's hair (Other long haired princesses are utilizing the bun!) The plaits are made from the bits of card I cut off the Princess' dresses (e.g Mulan's dress).

For Merida and Ariel I used the remaining two blank princess cut outs and their skirts fitted behind their heads. I then painted them and cut them to look wavy or curly.

The end result: I am so pleased with these Princesses. I think they look great. Easily recognisable and so much fun to make.

CRAFT: Shoe box craft holder

Shoe Box
Masking Tape
Duck Tape
Scissors
Card

Cut a V shape on opposite sides of the shoe box, the point should be in the centre.

with the V's removed bend the box so that the middle of the bottom becomes the top of the partition.

Using card (from the box lid) to create sides and stick them on with masking tape.

Cover the entire thing with ducktape and then use it to keep all sorts of craft stuff in.

Star Wars Birthday Cake

In a kitchen far far away.
This is one and a half swiss roll covering in green icing and grey icing, the buttons are skittles and the black lines are liquorice and black icing. The wookie cookies are a recipe I will share another day and the stormtroopers involved a black edible felt tip and a lot of patience.

You can make the cake yourself and cut it to shape but I wasn't that brave!

RECIPE: Chicken with Red Peppers and Pasta - Slow Cooker

I love my slow cooker (which is on loan from HQ (Mum)) and will make batches of food to freeze, defrost and cook. This one is great if you like a hot chilli after taste and nice juicy chicken. NB: Red Pepper Flakes are one of my new favourite ingredients.

2 or 3 Chicken breasts sliced
1 red pepper sliced
4 cloves of garlic
1 onion
1/2 punnet of mushrooms (optional)
1/2 mug chicken stock
1 tsp red pepper flakes

Pasta

Add all the ingredients (minus the pasta) to the slow cooker - after defrosting it if necessary. Cook for three hours on high. Then cook your pasta
I found that there's quite a bit of liquid in the chicken which you probably dont want on your pasta so spoon the chicken to the pasta rather than the other way around. HOWEVER I did add a bit of liquid but not all of it.

The second time I made this I added 2 sliced and fried salamis. Which were wonderful and made up for the fact it didn't have a lot of chicken in it!
